So Gard.......... What do you do with 3 ft of Snow? I can't even imagine that much all at once. They say we are could get 10" Monday night. Then the wind will blow it around into big (bigger) drifts. Yippy!! Can't get caught up from the last one. I feel for ya, that's for sure!!

Spent five hours yesterday with my front loader cleaning out the neighbour hood. Can't use the plow, no place to push all the snow. Two hours today cleaning things up; it's official, I'm tired of winter.
All the counties around me are listed as being under a state of emergency, one hundred thousand people are without power today in just our area.
We're lucky, chores are done, a fire's in the fireplace, the Super Bowl will be on later, life has been good to us. Hope you all are faring well.

I hear ya there Gard, I have danced with the shovel enough this weekend. Furnance decided to die thursday night, We had about 6 inches Friday eve and Sat woke up to sleet then changed back to snow with a good ole NorEaster helping it.. My path I had to the barn was 14inches deep but now a 4ft drift. Finally got out. So now it's getting the furnance guy here and get ready for more Tuesday..

I have always heard that you should be careful what you wish for because you just might get it. Well, we have been wishing for some moisture. Guess what! We got it!
We had a freaking blizzard that piled drifts up four feet deep around here, then we have had two storms since which have added another foot. More snow is expected wednesday! Things here are a muddy quagmire.

We're supposed to get a second round starting tomorrow noon. The national guard showed up to get patients to the hospitals. Glad I don't live near the city.

Blessings in this snow storm;
A 80 HP 2 year old tractor with loader that has something I have never seen in my life before. There is a small slit in the dashboard that when you insert a small metal intricately carved object in it and then twist it to the right, the engine actually starts. No jumper cables, no cans of ether, no propane heaters, no cursing, no swearing. Just amazing. Had I known I would have spent the $30,000 years ago :)

Keep us informed Gard. I just pulled another 5 to 5 shift moving snow for the county here. they want me back in at 5 am again in the morning. We have power, just plugged up roads. The wind had to blow 25 to 30 mph. Makes it hard for me just to get to my Machine.

Isn't it a wonderful feeling, to turn that magical key the first thing on a cold morning, and immmediately hear a diesel come to life? That bucket can move in minutes, what would take hours to effect. No matter what you spent, it's worth every penny.
There are millions being affected by this lot, some are worse off than we. Let's be safe and careful, so we can bitch about it later.

My horses have free run of thier stalls. They play like that all the time..We're sitting her with another blast of ole man winter. Still have no furnance. New one suppose to be installed Monday. So this will be thte end of storms. I will have a new furnance. The old one broke down every time we had bad weather. So no more of that I hope. The wind gust are terrible here. I will dread fedding tonight...Stay safe out there everyone....

I have a good friend who has been living in her Horse Trailer LQ for 5 days now since they lost power to their house because of the snow. Just another reason why every one should have an LQ trailer.

I had fired up my lq when we lost the furnance but we have kerosene heaters that have been life savers.Our new system will hopefuly be installed Monday before the next 6-10 come through on Monday,, I have used my 4wd drive more this last week than in the last 14yrs i've had it...But oh the feeling you get when you go through it and not get stuck... My truck used to be black it's white now...
Oh and you plow drivers KUDO's to you for making my drive easier...

Thanks Mingiz. It's tough for eveyone. I think you guy's on the Coast got slamed worst than anyone. Just remeber, now you can say you were a part of HIstory!!
Gee I can't wait.....They are calling for another 4-to 6 inches this weekend. So much for my weekend plans. No rest for the wicked, huh!!

The Pa. snow has turned into the N.C. snow this morning... Got 4"+ stuck to everything this morning.... Ever tried to get about in a wheelchair in the SNOW?!!!!! If I can make it from the house to the tractor shelter, I'll be good to go, this snow will have wished it had gone to "Hosspullers" house!!! In this area, anything much over the 4" mark, everything slows to a halt.

Geez Rentento; Do you guy's even have the equipment available to deal with snow in N.C.? Sounds like you have a tractor at home, but how about the rest of the world down there. Hope you made it out.

The state has alot of snow removal equipment, but it's more toward the western part of the state. (I'm 50 miles east of Raleigh) Our county has an assortment of truck plows and several motor graders, but..... Some of our residents are lacking in the area of "common sense" , so there you go!!!
I got a 50 hp tractor with a 7' wide frontend loader, another 100+ hp tractor with a 10' wide dozer blade. If I can get to either of those two, I'll make a road. If we get 6" or better I'll usually keep busy cleaning out the neighbors driveways and some of the state road for a mile or so in either direction.

On a TV broadcast last night, they said it had snowed in every state except HI. I guess everyone is now feeling the affects and problems of this pretty white stuff. It's still snowing here, hasn't stopped since the big one last weekend. If the forecasters are accurate, (trust Phil ) we will enjoy even more snow, unabated, through the end of next week.
We had a grain delivery yesterday, and had to use the front loader to move the bags into the barn. The delivery truck couldn't navigate the driveway's snow banks. Come on Spring!

I feel for you...We only got about 8 inches. Southern MI got alot more. I'm ready for spring!
