I am finding myself coming to the Horse Trailer World forum less frequently due to the many "trailer wanted", "trailer for sale" and "looking for a trailer" posts. I come to the forum to discuss horse trailers, if I wanted to know who is shopping for what trailer I would go to the "trailers wanted" section, and if I want to know what trailers are for sale I would go to the "horse trailers for sale" section. Can you freeze or preferably remove these inappropriate threads? Your advertisers will not be pleased to know your site is losing traffic due to inappropriate posts.

Hello STEVE... How about edit your user profile by adding your business email address, try using the "private message" system to notify potential clients of something you may have on your sales lot that's not listed here in the HTW ads and hit that caps off key.....Quit "HOLLARING"!!

I didn't read headhunters post as a negative about dealers answering quiestions and such. I read it as her being upset by individuals "asking" about where is the "best place" to list their trailer (or horse or whatever) when there is clearly a tab at the top of the page for it. They are just trying to advertise it without paying.

Thank you Steve O from long horn trailer sales for contacting me about a trailer. I look at this site every day in search of the perfect trailer for me. I am having no luck so I posted the wanted ad. Sorry to stir up so much trouble, but I thought someone might see my ad and have just the trailer I am looking for.

I find that those replies and questions about trailers for sale and or wanting to buy to be insignificant. This is a TRAILER site.If you stop those kind of threads/posts/comments you might also need to stop the TRUCK and TRUCK PERFORMANCE questions as well as others in that category.Chezz in THIS economy be NICE and helpful.Oh I do have a HART LQ listed on Trailers for sale! Have some NICE Walking horses and Qtrs that would love to load up in your NEW HART trailer and go home with you as a package deal!

Steve, we know everything is bigger in Texas, but does that have to include your "yelling" at us?
Some of you on here appear to be experts on how to type in forums. Others may not spend a lot of their time in bulletin board forums - to understand that cap letters equate to raising your voice.
Pointing it out to someone as "yelling at you" is rude in itself. Kinda like walking up to some new guy at the local dealer's Christmas party and announcing to everyone that is hat looks stupid.
Let's all become more of a team in the trailer industry and figure out ways we can serve each other.
Good advice, though, on the wanted ads. I react as quickly as I can to those fishing for trailers and kindly direct them to the "Trailers Wanted" ads. I don't always catch them right away during spring high school baseball season though.

And how does that pertain to the subject of the original post?

My opinion is just one opinion, but I felt that there were several in agreement that such threads were inappropriate so decided to state my opinion publicly. I do see dealers that respond to such threads in a negative light. If a dealer won't follow the rules of the forum to chase a sale, what other rules will they break? To me it casts doubt on their ethics.
I have far more respect for and am far more likely to do business with the dealers who refrain from participating in inappropriate threads. As someone pointed out, the PM tool is easy to use and enables a one-on-one conversation without involving the discussion board.
So in contrast to my original post, here's a shout out to all you dealers who do follow the rules. It hasn't gone unnoticed.

My experience with both buying and selling trailers on HTW has been excellent. Personally, I had a far greater response both buying and selling here than on either Craigslist or eBay.
The "Trailers Wanted" section does work. When trailer shopping, I had some unique requests and received responses from dealers that could address those requests. I recommend the "Trailers Wanted" section not just to get those posts off the discussion board, but honestly I think trailer shoppers will find themselves better served posting where dealers know to look.
This site has some excellent features that are effective when used properly.

Not bashing a thing, just stating a fact. BANNED?? For comparing different places to sell and DO BUSINESS?Cheez.I guess you think that if some people don't like what brand of trailer that they are shopping on this site or any other they ought to get banned. This is a FREEDOM of speech country. If that's what you think there are places you could live that think your way.Bet you could look them up in this country and compare airfare and services that are similar and go there. But maybe we are ALL over reacting.LOL!

Wife has sold a lot of stuff on e/bay including another horse trailer (3 horse CM Ranger)when I was in the hospital.Never had a bidder that won the item back out.Have a AV,microscope and the Hart trailer going now.The AV appears to have sold a little while ago.You never know unless you try.

I have found that if you need to sell something ebay is a good place to do so, If you would like to sell something then HTW will get you more money for your trailer. If you only have ebay type money in your trailer then you will be OK, if you gave retail prices for the trailer you will be upset with what it brings on ebay. I have over 300 transactions on ebay two of those were horse trailers.
