I traded my 4 Star for a 2000 Silverlite +cash in '02 - needed to downsize & this was a decent deal.  I had thought I would only keep the trailer a short time, but I still have it!  It is a 3H w/8' LQ.  It has been a nice trailer, very well made & Silverlite has been very good to deal with.  If I were looking for another & it had what I wanted, I would not hesitate to get another.

This is pretty pitiful- you being a dealer for Silverlite, and pretending to be a customer here looking for good feedback for your product. Come on.

How did that response come out of this?

"It has been a nice trailer, very well made & Silverlite has been very good to deal with"

I've heard of putting a spin in things, but this is a bit much.

Hi, we have a SilverLite and REALLY do enjoy it. We are contemplating a move to an LQ and we'll for sure be looking at the SilverLite and working with our dealer in WI.

I don't have a Silverlite, don't think I've ever seen one in person. Heard good things about them, really like the looks of the raised roof over the gooseneck area..... Wife would really like that, she's always banging her head on the celing up there.

Dustin, you got a good looking inventory up there north of Calgary. You got any of your Ford trucks or Silverlite trailers listed here on HTW? Alot of folks rambling around over here.... 773 folks online as I type this sentence.

Dustin, Thx for the advice to "grow up". Now you sound like my mother. But- Most dealers here that are looking for respect look like, act like, and make no secret of the fact they are a dealer. If you as a dealer want info on a product you sell- just ask. But your post looked like someone doing research towards a purchase. There is a difference. Just be truthful with us, that's all we ask.

Well, I just can't seem to find your Silverlite listings..... There are no Silverlite trailers listed on HTW in Alberta, Canada. Help me out here, where do you have your trailers listed on HTW?? Maybe Dave, hasn't had time to get them all posted up yet.....

In your fourth post you listed your web address, you might want to check that address again.

I know a little bit about business. I successfully started and ran one for a couple of decades. I don't get my kicks by reading disingenuous statements, that slant the facts. Nothing is wrong with feedback. Without using it properly, a business will fail. However, expounding with exaggerating statements, cannot be included under the guise of "collecting feedback"

Oh, so this thread was intented to be a poll? Is it me or have I missed something. I read it to sound like someone was just asking about the brand of trailer not posting a poll. It was confusing to me too Gard.

Dustin,

I think what everyone is trying to say here is that dealers don't normally come online in the bulletin board and ask what people think of the trailers they are carrying.

We sell banners and advertising for that and they do quite well.

No offense of course.   We'll even be happy to commission a direct mail survey with Silverlite if you wish.  Just contact me.  Silverlite makes a great trailer by the way.

Dustin

Two things a business owner needs to do: One is to check out his competition to see what he is doing correctly that makes him successful.

We are fortunate to have several dealers, who are not only members of this forum, but are held in high esteem by the membership.

A review of threads posted by two of those, Richard at Select Trailer and Don at Dixie Horse and Mule Co, are notable for what they DON"T do. They don't bash competitors, degrade or call people names. They are respectful and very willing to help with any problem. They don't exaggerate or say they've done something they haven't. They don't play games, and are professional at all times. They enjoy the kudos given to those who are deserving.

The second thing you need to know about is first impressions. With a new customer, a business owner has only seconds to come across as being professional, considerate, knowledgeable and honest. If you don't, your sales will plummet. Everything you say, and how you say it, will determine how successful you will become.

All of your correspondence is directly indicative of your communicative attributes, and your ability to conduct a successful business.

So you then you think its bad when a dealer is asking what people think if the trailers and why people would buy them? why is that?

Please reread my posting, it's tone and my responses. You will find that I was offering a legitimate critique of what I believed was lacking in his presentation. You will notice that I did not react to his growing up comment, or for telling me that "his" part of this forum isn't any of my business.

I did not bash him or his spelling. If I were to do so, he would be black and blue. As subtly as possible, I indicated an area in which he professionally is deficient, and if he wants to be successful, can easily use tools to help him achieve that goal.

My posting was an effort to present legitimate information, that may be beneficial in his efforts to run a business.

"Ok so i understand some people here making comments dont understand the logic of buisness and thast totaly fine you get kicks outta sitting on your computer making comments about things you really dont know about"

I DO know a little about business. If he doesn't wish to listen, that's his problem.

Gard
