I got my truck back and we love the Linex and BW ball. Hubby and I were talking about our "virtual" gooseneck and the question of Werm flooring came up. What exactly differs between the two products?

Linex is thin, no cushioning, hard to scratch, protective textured coating, spray in bed liner, etc.... http://www.linex.com/
WERM is used in the place of trailer mats, poured onto the clean prepared trailer floor like cement, has to cure for several hours, 1/2 to 1 inch thick, shock absorbant for the horses, non removable... NO MORE MATS to pull out!!! http://www.sofdek.com/about.iml

The WERM flooring is very expensive but I researched all options for the floor and I decided to go with it. I figured I would forget about the cost but I would never forget about the floor if I was not absolutely happy with it. I take very good care of my stuff and I like things maintained and clean. To get my trailers really cleaned out I would always have to pull the heavy mats before I power washed it. Now I can just power wash the floor and know that its clean and the structure of the floor is not being compromised.

AQHA 123, What size trailer do you have? I am thinking about the WERM for our Sundowner before we start rolling for spring events. I have it at our local Sundowner dealer now getting eveything serviced and checked out, then going to the detail shop for a full clean up. Ours is a 3 horse 8' wide with mangers, not sure about the horse compartment footage I know it has 42" stalls so I would guess somewhere around 17'.

I have WERM in both my Bloomer 3H and my 4 Star 4H trailers. I love it! It is well worth the money. My hubby just hated wrestling with the rubber mats.

Yes. It seals the floor. Urine and acids will never get to the aluminum or steel. This is the first trailer I have done it on, in 5 or 10 years I will know a lot more, but from what I have read its the way to go if you can afford it. There is nothing else out there that can do what WERM can do.

Ok, I'm not a carpenter how can I figure the sq/ft or ball park it? It is a 3 horse and the horse compartment is about 17' long x 8' less the mangers in the 2 back stalls, so I would have a full 8' in the front and in the rear tack. So I guess it would be 17x8=136'x$13.00=$1768.00???

Hogtownboss - From my experience with trailers, a 3 horse normally has a long wall of 14'. If you have a slant load you measure to the center of the slant wall and that should be around 12' (give or take a few inches) If you have mangers you should have around 80 to 90 sq.ft. That puts your price at $1170.00. That is cheap insurance knowing your floor is completely protected! Plus maintenance free.

You got that right about the jigsaw puzzle. You got to lay them out in the yard the same way they are arranged in the trailer, or you'll never get them back in the trailer without taking the hacksaw to them!!
Yes sir buddy, can't go to Mufreesboro or Shelbyville without hitting all the tack stores!! We'll make our rounds out there three or two times a year. Everything within's arms reach of me now as I type this, is covered with "cataloges". I believe the folks at World Champion, National Bridle and Bedford Tack recognize "her" voice when they answer the phone!! Matter of fact, our horse trailers look more like tack shops, than they do horse trailers!! LOL!

I had WERM installed last May when gas was over $4 a gallon and we live in East Texas. My husband took it to Oklahoma City and Kris took care of it. Great price and he got him in and out. I have not regretted it at all. You're in North TX close to I35. Take it to Oklahoma City.

I finally was able to see a WERM floor at Equifest over the weekend. I liked the way it completely sealed along the wall and in to the tack compartment. However, the material seemed kinda hard compared to a regular rubber mat. Does it flex with the horses weight... I couldn't get it to flex with me standing on the floor.

The Werm I'm familiar with is not as "soft" as a standard rubber floor mat. To be durable and long lasting against pawing, it has to be a tough substance. Soft and durable are usually the results of two different types of materials. Some Werm owners add floor mats during long distance hauls for additional padding.

Werm is by far the best thing I have done for the horse area in my trailer. Easier to clean, because nothing get under it and grows the air is better, you won't have a horse move a mat then trip on it. And this might just be my imagination but the trailer seems to ride better, tighter. It is made for this job, and I won't own a trailer without it again.

If additional cushioning is required, use shavings. Shavings are always a good idea anytime you haul long distances.
