Ok guys.. It's getting down to the wire.. I've narrowed my choices down to 2 (a fluctuating thing..any other suggestions?!)
Which of the 2 trailers; sundowner or 4 star do you believe is a better quality trailer..? I'm talking 2 horse slant bumperpulls, so as to compare apples to apples..Whatever LQ I will ever have will be a tiny, tiny (did I say tiny?) one of my own engineering.

WELL HELL'S FIRE !!! OLE SUNDOWNER IS TAKIN IT ON THE CHIN HERE !!! LOOKS LIKE THE DAYS OF SUNDOWNER LOYALTY AND QUALITY PRODUCTION ARE GOING TO THE WAYSIDE. 4STAR IS THE WINNER HERE ! I MYSELF WILL NOT PUT A VOTE IN BECAUSE ALL I HAVE FOR A TRAILER IS A 20FT CARGO TRAILER THAT I CUT SOME WINDOWS OUT, WELDED SOME EXTRA BRACING IN THE WALLS AND HOOKED HER TO MY 1985 CHEVY 2500 REG CAB !!! MY OLE PONY LOVES IT !!!! SHOOT, SAVED MYSELF A COUPLE GRAND. MORE MONEY FOR BEER !!!

Approaching the bottom of the second inning and the score is......
4 Star ........ 8
Sundowner... 1?
"Candy Girl" wrote... I don't think you can go wrong with either. I have a Sundowner and love it. Have friends with 4 Stars that are great trailers too. So that may very well be a vote for Sundowner.

I plan to look at both.. but the dealerships are far from my home (3 hours+, or 3 hrs ++) in opposite directions.. Naturally since my fingers are cheaper than gas, I'm researching online first.. Since I've only owned 1 trailer, my current one (CM) I don't know too much about the others.. I don't show and I don't camp as much as I'd like..so I don't get much chance to question others...... I appreciate any and all info received.. thanks!

both are beautiful, but I'm not able to buy a $60,000.00 trailer (I drive a SUV, plus my husband would either leave me or kill me.. both of which would prevent me from using it! LOL!)... I'm looking for a small 2 horse slant bumperpull..

Now that you have told us a little more, If you aren't going to use this trailer very often then maybe the 4 Star is not the trailer you need, it will be considerably higher than the others. You could buy a Kiefer, Exiss, Featherlite ect..... for much less money and they will hold up fine under light/medium use.

No matter what make you decide on, that "LQ" is going to be your biggest problem. No much room to lay down in a bumper pull dressing room unless you are 5' or less!! Once you start adding a thing or three, that dressing room gets tiny in a hurry... What are you going to be towing this with?

Actually, i talked to the 4 star saleman today after a flurry of e-mails about specs and pricing.. I can add 18" to the standard length of the DR..which will give me a 23" short wall (which does NOT include the 4ft wedge nose) that will give me nearly 6 ft of space.. More than enough for a cot, a college fridge, a small walmart microwave, and a small shelving unit to organize things on.. I'm 5'3" and a cot on the long wall will be more than enough room for me to lay down..I may need to measure the width of a cot to see how much space I would need to enable the cot to sit flush on the short wall..Hmm.. or just place it as close to the short wall as possible and use the little bit of extra space for storage.. we'll see.. The dealership is 4 1/2 to 5 hours drive away, I'll go up there in person (obviously) before I commit to anything... I'll eventually add an AC w/heat strip, but as of right now, I only go camping in the fall when the heat isn't so unbearable.. The only place within a decent drive is Bandera, which is too hot and dry after early April anyway..
After all my add-ons, the trailer is still cheaper than what I was prepared to pay for the Sundowner, and it has an item or two included at no extra charge that would have added $1000.000 plus on the Sundowner.. Right now I'm feeling pretty satisfied..
Thanks for everyone's input.. I'm still open to opinions and comments, but now have pretty much switched gears towards a 4 star..
