Hi THis is Genebob's wife, what can you tell me about Bisson trailers? I don't want this turned into a bashing Bisson Trailers, if you own one, what do like and dislike. We are looking at getting a different trailer and we don't know anything about them. We have had a Keifer and now own a featherlite. I like both of them trailers. Looking at trailerson the internet and I like a LQ lay out of this Bisson. THanks

When we were looking at trailers, the dealer told us that the Bisons had some of the best LQ around. So, if that is what your priority is, this is probably a top pick. I think you have to decide what you need - weight, maintainence, ventilation, LQ, flooring, etc. and go from there. Good luck.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe that Bison is owned by an RV company. They build LQ's in mass production and, in my opinion, the quality isn't as good as some of the other LQ companies. However, they are less expensive as well so it might even out if that is your preference.

that may be true about the motor homes but not the horse trailers. I am not bashing them but you can't honestly compare their LQ work to some of the other industry leaders. With that being said, they cost less too so it may be a good value to some customers. I have never owned a Bison but have done repair work on them. Its just not true to say they have one of the best LQs on the market.

DD-TrailerMan are you a trailer manufacture? and if so why don't you advertise on this sight like other dealers and manufacturers. You are the first to comment on how good a product you have and the first to raise questions about other products.

When we were shopping for a new LQ Bunkhouse in the winter we visited a dealer than sold 3-4 different brands of trailers; one of them being Bison. I will say that their LQ are nicely done as Monaco does have a great deal of experinece with RV's, but I was more concerned about it being a high quality horse trailer that would be able to maintain it's value should we decide to ever trade it in. I really felt like even though we asked about other trailers we kept getting told that you get more bang for your buck with Bison. I have no doubt they are nice but in the end we chose a brand that had been around a lot longer and that we could get references on from other horse folks. One thing I would do when we were shopping was I noticed what most other folks have. When we went camping I would take the time to drive thru the camp and see what brands were most popular. People that horse camp seem to use their trailers more and I thought this was a good indicator of which brands were purchase worthy. I just felt safer purchasing a brand that had been around a long time and had the reputation to back up any problems that might occurr after the sale. So far, So good.

Sorry if my opinion offends anyone. Just that it's an opinion. We looked at them; researched it but decided to go a different route. I was not buying a trailer to get out of in two years. Plan on keeping this one for a least 10 years. It's a big decision and a lot of money; buy what you are comfortable with. Bottom Line.

Just so nobody gets into a "brand battle" we are looking at a lot of different trailers. We found the listing for this particular Bison model here on HTW. The dealer is about 200 miles away and are trying to find time to get out to look at it. It is the Stratus ME which is all aluminum. The fact that it is the same size o the others we are looking at and priced about $5000 cheaper is interesting. One thing we noticed from the pictures is that it does not seem to have the cupboard (storage) space as some of the other brands. I do like the fact that over the mangers the dividers are jail bars rather than solid panels. Wish us luck in making a decision IF we decide to buy!

You get what ya pay for and living quarters horsetrailer isn't something to skimp on to save few dollars.If wanta keep price in hand wouldnt be better to buy really well cared QUALITY used trailer as so many are listed for sale with job loses and tough times.Sorry JMHO

We do manufacture and sell trailers factory direct, and we do advertise on this site, do a search for Double D Trailers. We have been manufacturing trailers for about 12 years, currently building an all steel trailer, an all aluminum trailer, and an onsite LQ shop. I oversee all the designing and building so I really try to inspect other brands, top to bottom for good/bad things. I have positive comments about trailers other than the one that I build. I do have a good product, so does Bison. I was simply referring to the comment that Bison is top of the line LQ and my opinion differs. I happen to think that Bison is a pretty good value, cheaper quality and cheaper price if that is your preference. Don't paint me as being completely bias towards my trailer and bias against all other brands, even though I do like my trailer, haha. I just call it like I see it.
You can read all my other posts, I do not run down other brands.
What's your story? Are you a dealer, manufacturer, or user? do you own a Bison or any other trailer? Thanks!

The company continues to build (4) different lines including the all aluminum Stratusand the aluminum over steel Alumasport .... all at the most competitive price in the industry. As if this wasn't enough to attract future customers' attention, the Stratus Expressand the Trail Expresswere introduced and have rapidly become the "Best Buy For The Buck"

I'm going to have me a LQ trailer some day with running water, two sinks with related plumbing and a "Bolted to the Floor so that it don't tip over with me on it.... Toilet"!!! LOL!
