I have a Cremello TWH that cut his head pretty bad! about 7 inches between his eyes down towards his nose. Luckly no eye damage! I had a vet stitch him up Excellent job! I was wondering if anyone has any ideas how to keep scaring to minimum? Is there anything i can put on it?

I know from experience that vitamin E oil works great on human skin, however, I have never tried it on a horse. I simply bought a bottle of vitamin E capsules and punctured the capsule and put the oil directly on my incision.
You may also consider neosporin, not just to minimize scar tissue but for it's healing properties as well.

Once it scabs over apply daily some blue hair dressing ointment. I always find some in small oddly shaped glass jars in the ethnic hair dressing section of the grocery store. Hair will grow under the scab and by the time you get the vet bill you'll have hair growing!
I showed the most accident prone horse and all I lived with this blue ointment in my first aid kit. He looked like he'd never been scratched.

there are tons of products out there for this kind of problem.....our breed cannot be shown with scars so you learn when they are young to treat cuts as though it is life threatening..ha ha......one of my fav's is s & t orange.... i have put it on a rope burn and had hair in three days.....also helps the scar itself stay small and not so noticable....good luck

Not to discount what you are saying about Eclipse salve by Belumedx because I totally believe in the product.I saw personally what it did for my gelding who had almost severed (well, about 1/3 deep downward) through his heel bulb area in about 2 1/2 months' time.
But the salve is totally different from the wound care spray, and I would not use it on a healed wound. The reason being: it is designed for proud flesh and unhealed wounds.I had to get a tube for some proud flesh that was forming on the edge of the laceration, and I only had to use one application of it.
The salve is very similar to a product called Panafil used in diabetic ulcers. It cannot touch healthy/healed or newly formed tissue just granulated or it will cause it to slough off.
The Eclipse spray wound care is the best secret out there yet in any wound care product for horses.I know because having had a total of 11 horses in 8 yrs,I've had to treat some bad wounds. The gelding's foot wound was caused by high tensile wire and I thought he would lose the back portion of the heel bulb. Our vet thought that portion would become necrotic and just fall off.It reattached itself. This was using Eclipse wound spray and wrapping with a gauze roll and vetwrap twice a week for a while, then once weekly until healed. It happened the last week of August and by mid-November it was completely healed. This was on a pastured horse.I kept a bell boot over the dressing to keep it as clean as possible.
Eclipse is wonderful,I'll never use anything else. But the salve is a different product than the spray.
