Have any of you used a spring tether, either for trailering or other tying? I know someone who had one he liked, and I know he attached a panic snap and used it on his picket line.
If you're interested, here is one place to order them: www.skynet.net

I've have two of the Hitie brand on my trailer. I've seen of a lof these used at Competitive Trail Rides where you have to tie your horse to the trailer at night. Also drive through any of the Endurance riders events and you will see a number of trailers with them. I also have a friend who has them on his trailer just for saddling. He doesn't want his horses scratching up the trailer sides. It's too much bother to set them up for 5 minutes while I saddle the horse. But I do use them if I'm leaving the horse tied to the trailer for an hour or more.
They are wonderful for when you are trying to sleep in the trailer with the horse tied to the trailer, They really soften the tugging and jerking of the horse hitting the end of his lead. I get a lot more sleep than just normal tying to the trailer side rings.
For CTR or Endurance, it gives the horse a lot mroe room to walk around and stretch.
It is not the thing I think Paintedhorse was referring to. This is like a strong spring covered with vinyl with snaps at both ends. See what you think. I believe I saw these also in some catalog but they are quite new I'd say.

Painted Horse, I believe you are referring to a different item. I am glad to hear about these too. I have seen these in catalogs but never in use. Thanks for the comments.
