There's been a lot of chatter about this Black Ops 7 update, and for once it isn't just hype. If you've been in multiplayer lately, you've probably felt that weird mix of "I'm playing well" and "the game's not paying attention." Challenges not ticking, loadouts acting up, random stutters mid-fight. It adds up fast. Some players even ducked into a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby just to test builds without the usual chaos, which says a lot about how shaky things were before this patch landed.



Weapons That Finally Behave
The Akita situation was the big one. You'd tweak a setup and suddenly the gun felt like it was running on a different ruleset, like your attachments weren't really "yours" anymore. Now it's fixed, and you can actually experiment again without crossing your fingers. The MPC-25 also got a small but important clean-up: the Contrabloom Laser visuals aren't glitching out, so what you see lines up with what you're doing. That matters more than people admit, especially when you're trying to hold a tight angle and your screen is lying to you.



Multiplayer Stability And Perk Fixes
Match flow feels steadier. Not perfect, but the kind of steadier you notice after a couple games, when you realise you haven't had that one rage moment where the frame hiccups right as you peek. The Gearhead perk is a real perk again too. Before, it was basically a trap pick because it could throw errors and leave you worse off. Now it works the way you'd expect, which means it can actually show up in loadouts without people laughing. Hardcore and Face Off players also got a big quality-of-life fix: Bottle Caps weren't dropping correctly, and scoring could feel off, so grinding those modes felt like wasted time. That loop makes sense again.



Scorestreaks And Challenge Tracking
Scorestreak balance got a much-needed nudge. The War Machine is the headline: ammo's set to 24, and the self-damage is harsher, so you can't just sprint into a room and spam the floor like it's free. You've gotta pick your shots and think about spacing. A few streaks also had their points-per-kill adjusted, which helps rein in that snowball effect where one good push turns into an unstoppable chain in objective modes. And the quiet hero change is challenge tracking: weekly Endgame challenges are registering properly now, so when you put in the work, the game actually counts it. If you're knocking out goals with friends or trying to buy CoD BO7 Bot Lobbies for a calmer grind session, at least the progress side of things isn't fighting you anymore.
