I need new tires for my truck. 2000 Chevy Silverado 3/4 ton. My mechanic is shopping for me on price. Just wanted to know if there are any I should stay away from for whatever reason. I tow a Hawk 2 horse BP with dress.

Stay away from anything that is the lowest price, made in China.

I had the BF Goodrich tires and love love loved them. They lasted six years easily and still looked new. The side walls started to crack and I knew I had to get new tires. Never had a blow-out or a flat with them either. And I horse camp and go off road. I went with Coopers the next time around and don't like them as much at all. 2 years and they are already looking really used. Just had an alignment and rotated and balanced which I am really good at having done regularly too. I think I may need new shocks soon though. I went with the Coopers cause of the price difference. Not next time. I will go with BF Goodrich again and pay more as they were much better tires

I have been running NITTO DURA GRAPPLERS for 5 years now and will not buy anything else. Been through Michelin, Toyo, Bridgestone and BF Goodrich. The BFG's would be my 2nd tire. I am not sure if you have a Discount Tire around you are not but they have the best prices on these tires and offer a full road hazard which they do stand behind since this type of tire really has little to no mileage warranty on them.

I like the Cooper Discoveries. Have run several sets and never a problem. Way more budget friendly then the top name brands.
