I have found a 2000 Sundowner Trailerblazer II that I want to buy.A friend of mine owns the trailer and bought it used. She never received a title for it.If I buy this trailer,I live in Alabama and will have to put a tag on it.My question is,will I need a tiltle to get the tag or will the bill of sale be enough ?

There will be some process for obtaining a title. I think you should go to the Department of Motor Vehicles in your county and talk with them about how to get a title.

I went through this a couple of times over the years, once when I didn't get the MCO right off when we bought a new trailer (had to get the trailer manufacturer involved in that one) and another time when trying to buy a trailer from a childhood friend who wouldn't fess up that he'd never titled it in his name from the previous owner.
It sure leaves a mess when people just fail to title a trailer. They try to avoid paying sales tax, declaring it on their property tax assessment (we do this in our state) etc.In some states you can apply for a "lost title" and that works.

i'm going to tell you right now it is going to be a HEADACHE. I purchased a trailer from a shady dealer a few years back & after 6 months I still didn't have a title....I'm from Tn purchased the trailer in KY it was a bank repo from AL & was sold at auction in NC....when I finally spoke to the auction company I found out it was sold to another dealer in KY & this guy purchased it from them on credit & didn't even have the title.... IN KY trailer dealers arn't regulated... we ened up having to get any attorney to send this guy a letter before we could get our title. My point is stay away....let your friend do the leg work they are the one who purchased it w/out the title

My good "friend" wasn't willing to do leg work to get our title,it was going to cost him.So we walked, and, found another better trailer for the same money,WITH a title, this time.
