Looking at a 3H 1998 Silver Startrailer. I know that usually the feedback on Silver Stars has been pretty favorable. I also realize that Silver Star has recently gone out of business. Is it wise to still consider a Silver Star trailer being that there are no repair parts made for these any longer??

We use to own a Silver Star and one of the things that we disliked about it were the saddle racks. The saddles would always fall off. Has anyone had any dealings with this and how hard is it to replace saddle racks in the tack area??

I had saddle racks that wouldn't hold a saddle.  Every time we got to where we were going, saddles were slung everywhere.  I took some of that rubber stuff that guys use to line their tool chests, and super glued it to the saddle racks.  NEVER lost another saddle after that !

I doubt you will be able to find any wear part on your trailer that can't be replaced or substituted.   You might have a different issue with SIlver Star fabricated parts like a door or drop-down.

It is always a pain to lose factory support but it's not the end of a trailer's usefulness.

Thanks everybody. Went trailer shopping today and liked an 05 Dream Coach and an 05 Sooner better than the 98 Silver Star. Yes, a bit more money but nicer trailers. We had alot of rain last night and right off the bat noticed the Silver Star had a leak in the back door and also around the AC in the DR. Other 2 were tight as a drum-no leaks. Made an offer on the Dream Coach being it was a 4H. The others were 3H and it seems around here that the resale value is better on a 4H (which means nothing at this point since nothing seems to be selling).
