I recently purchased a new trailer with 7K lb axles and now on my first trip I had a blow out.  I went and weighed right after at the cat scales and it said there was 13,860#'s on the trailer axles.  I was light at the time, now I am concerned about the longevity/durablity of the dexter axles.  I think I was undersold.  When I am loaded and tote water with me I know I will be several hundered pounds overweight.  Why do manufacturers do this?  The tires that came on the trailer are 14 ply and are overrated for the axles.  What can I do?

look at the post from barnestrading about the floor in a steel lq trailer! This trailer is the same way! I am 660lbs over on the axles with light horses and a 1000lbs over with large horses! I have contacted a LAWYER, my trailer is less than a years old!
