To no avail, I have tried to search for a supplier of window screens for horse trailers. I know that sometime ago, in one of our forums was a discussion about them. Several brands and sources were mentioned. I have been unable to find any mention of those discussions using the search function.
My wife just returned from Congress and has purchased some screens without zippers. They won't work for our application.
I have read that zippered screens are available from various sources, but I'm unable to determine which ones. Does anyone know where I might obtain this product? Is there one brand that is better than another? Thank you for your help.
They all look about the same to me. My old Silver Star has the screens that are held in place with the little rubber band deal that is tucked into the groove...holding the screen in place. I have never looked at the Cherokee.

Thank you all for your quick responses and attention. I showed your answers to the CEO, and she said the information would greatly help.
Also, thanks for not stating the obvious: that I was suffering from the dumb husband syndrome when I made the posting. No she didn't just return from Congress, it was the Equine Affaire.

Where do find a screens for Featherlite Trailer? Oh yea, for the horse side on the drop down window side. Stupid yearling put her nose through the screen last fall when we bought her home from the summer pasture. Thanks

If you are meaning replacement screens for just the window part, you can get that at Home Depot, Lowe's, or I think even Wal Mart carries some of the screen material.

Oh.... GREAT idea!! It wouldn't be hard to do that either! Just sew in a utility zipper and then cut the slit! Wish I had thought of that sooner. Saw some of the non-zippered ones on sale for cheap (that fit my windows better than the zippered ones I have) and could have altered them.
For what that's worth... one could buy some of the shade/screen material that different colors and make their own. That would be a nice change from the standard black ones.

We're going to first try Terri's idea since we already have the new screens. My wife is now looking for a source of the large heavy duty zippers, that are used on gear bags and sports equipment. There is a fabric store not too far away, that sells many sewing accessories. She may be able to source them there.
Also, I have taken the idea of making our own. I picked up the heavy duty screen last night at lowes for 8.00 it is 36" x 82". That should be enough to do our 3 windows. I have chosen not to put the zipper in.
You may be able to find the zipper at a local hobby shop such as Hobby Lobby if there is one in your area. Or you can use the ole' faithful. Ebay has it all

Um, have you had window screens before? I'm just asking, cuz I have my first trailer with screens and I thought having a zipper was stupid. Let me tell you, I have used that zipper like you wouldn't believe. Pitstop... boys want to look out... it's that or paw...*zip*. Stop... boys need a drink.....*zip...slurp...zip*. Mine are a pain to unhook/hook back. You may want to try one without and see before you get them all made.
I'd be interested in seening how they come out. Keep us updated if you can and maybe some pics.

I am hoping to start on the screens this weekend. I will take some pictures as soon as I get one done. I may try to find a zipper and make one with and without. Look for pictures next week. Hopefully I can manage to work on them this weekend.
