Good luck! Don't be nervous, whether you win or lose it can be a positive learning experience for your daughter and you. Just remember that it's supposed to be fun!

Keep your cool or the kiddo and the yearling will pick-up your nerves.
I've known kids that took allergy medication to "dull" the jitters prior to showing. I've also known a few that drank some wine to take the edge off. Either method might work for you too!

I've known some grownups that smoked left handed cigarettes and some snorted nose candy before entering the showring. Too bad drug testing was only performed on the horses.

If you have to take medication prior to showing to calm jitters, you aren't ready for showing. You should NEVER condone that as that definitely is a crutch and will form a bad habit. Anytime you ingest any kind of medication or alcohol it inhibits your response time. Shame on those for suggesting it.
Terri...good luck and have fun!!! Hope you guys did awesome!

Thanks everyone. They did very well. My daughter placed 2nd in showman ship and the filly placed 3rd in her class. The two that placed above her had been shown in a couple of open shows and were calmer and about a hand higher.
One of theses days I'll figure out how to post pictures on here. I put them in my album under 4H.

Please NEVER go to national or world level competition, you'd be offended.
