He was born early this year, so he is already 6 months old....he will be getting gelded soon, just waiting for a stretch of weather where it is not going to be so hot!  What do you think of him?

You can post pictures in the albums. Check out the upper left hand corner for the Albums link.

He's got a nice hind end - how bout more pics but thios time in daylight, side view with you slightly downhill, to the side.  Horses are tough to photograph and the better the shot, the better the horse will look.

I've ridden several big time show horses (QH, Andalusian) that were sold for tones of money, but my favorite all time horse is a grade gelding I had as a kid.  He would do anything!  So don't worry about him being grade, if he's turns out to be good  at what you want to use him for, healthy, and a nice temperment, that's all that really matters.

Grade horses are awesome.....kinda like gettin the mutt at the shelter....I bought a 6mo old red roan colt at the sale yard about 4 months ago...grade of course...he stood haltered at the gate and patiently waited his turn to enter the ring...he was led in and stood quietly for his introduction...even the "broke" horses were more wired than he was...an auction ring is not exactly a horse friendly place....I have a soft spot for red roans and there was a spark about him (plus I felt sorry for the little guy...kinda thin and wormy)...so I made the first bid....nobody else bid.....I took him home for $100....best $100 investment Ive ever made....he jumped right in the trailer....not even a tug...just followed me right up....feet had never been trimmed and stood perfect for the farrier the following week....he isnt scared of much of anything....a few weeks ago we were working on some ground work and he wouldnt stay off of me...so we broke out the grocery sack....waved it at him...he looked at me like I was retarded grabbed the grocery sack and started waving it back at me....a few days ago he mastered the screen door and front door...the screen door has a thumb latch and the front door has a turn knob...I came home to find my dogs in the front yard with the door open...expecting to find I had been robbed everything was in its place...I put the dogs up and went to doing things in the house...30 mins later the front door was open again and the colt was half way in the house before I stopped him....fortunately, he doesnt have a key....he is already learning tricks like putting a foot up on a flipped over muck bucket on commmand....hes not even a year yet....I joked to my friend I needed to trade my horse in for a stupid one....

yeah, I'll take my $100 sale barn grade colt over a high dollar papered horse any day of the week....

I agree with SuperFly, and besides, you can't ride papers!

Registered horses have their place for sure, but if you aren't breeding or showing in registered breed shows the papers don't matter.  I have never understood people who buy a gelding and insist that he have papers?

Happy Trails!
