I am currently riding a Circle Y saddle that has been very good to me over the years. It is one of the higer end Circle Y show saddles and is still in very good condition but I want to upgrade and show a few more registered circuits this year. I have looked at lots of saddles (don't really need the Harris or Blue Ribbon) and am liking the Silver Royal but don't know anyone that has ridden one. Any comments? Pros or cons? Thanks for the help.

When I must show western I borrow a saddle, I don't like my western show saddle too much. I don't know exactly about the saddle you speak but I do know that you can find the other top brands used for what you can buy a second tier saddle new. Look around at the shows, local circuits, worlds and stock shows...that's where I'd go if it were me.

I don't know when Equine Affaire is but you might look there. There is one in Columbus OH. and I think there is one out East somewhere but I'm not sure. You could check the web site. I know I saw all the brands you have mentioned at Congress last year. I would think any of the state horse fairs would be a good place to look.

How about a really nice USED McLellands show saddle? It is in EXCELLENT shape, never been rained on and always bagged. It is in the same league as Harris and BR too but, since it is used, you can buy it for half of a new one. I have photos too! Plus, I'm in PA.
