I am most interested in what 3 horse w/ mid tack or 4 horse, 8' LQ trailers weight - would be most comparable to mine. Curious if anyone has taken their trailer over a scale for licensing, what have you.
I have a 3 horse Logan Coach with mid tack, 8' LQ that weighted in just over 10,000 lbs. w/o horses. I had to weigh it to get it licenced since I bought it used out of state. Of course, I wasn't thinking and had already loaded all my stuff into it, and realized later there was water in the freshwater tank, so I paid to license non-trailer weight. But got me wondering what other trailers weigh in comparison.

Our well equipped all aluminum 3 horse trailer w/10' Living Quarters and one ton single axle diesel pickup weigh 18000# empty. Haven't the truck and trailer separately.

I was a little surprised how much weight the LQ added to the trailer weight showing on the original trailer sticker. it's a Star Lite aluminum 3H slant with 7 ft short wall that weighed 4400 empty with dressing room (included full insulation) but adding the LQ evidently added 2100 lbs because it's now 6500 lbs empty. Add about 1800 for one horse, water, gear and feed and that's 8300 for just the trailer. the generator and horse water tank in the pickup will add another 400 lbs. Another interesting weight to have is tongue weight. I weighed the pickup alone and then weighed the pickup with the empty trailer hitched up but not on the scales. Over 2000 lbs difference. Have hauled two horses ok but will not put three in there. too scary, anyway I need that first stall for stuff!

My one ton single axle diesel truck weighed in at 8500 lbs, so I would guess your trailer weighs about 9500 lbs.

Next trip I plan on weighing mine again. Weighed it once before the LQ's were finished but were of to a ride and loaded down. LQ's had the insulation and stripping with some framing done but nothing else. Weight was as follows:
Front Axle: 3900lbs
Rear Axle: 4260lbs
Trailer Axle: 6520lbs
Total: 14680lbs
I'll be curious to see how much the LQ's have added.

So truck and trailer weigh 14,680 lbs? Did you ever weigh your trailer unhitched from the truck?

Nope, haven't been able to do that. These are just the pull though scales at the truck stops that I've used. I could probably go down to the feed mill or concrete place and unhitch and see what it weighs but I would think the scales at the truck stops give you a pretty good idea of the weight. Mind you the weights I posted are with the truck and trailer loaded, 2 horses, water tanks, firewood, wife, dog, feed, tack, hay, everything you can think of. This was also before my LQ's were finished. I have another ride 2nd weekend of March and I was going to get it weighed again.
Anybody weighed their trailer?
