I'm thinking of putting an invertor in a trailer to run a refrigerator and hopefully a small heater.  I'm looking at a 3000 watt to use, the refrigerator would be a 3 cu ft.  My questions is how long would I beable to run the refrigerator on two good batteries?  I go up in the mountains and don't have access to 110 volt service!  Any helpful hints would be great!

I don't have a honest answer to your question. But I will suggest the batteries won't last long enough. That's why folks buy generators. To both recharge the batteries and run electrical items that won't work off the batteries.

Not very long at all. Get a propane refrigerator. That is the only way to go. Also for heat. Even if you are uneasy about using the heaters at night, you can warm it up good before going to bed and first thing in the morning. My 4 somthing sized refrigerator and heater runs for a week or so on one tank of propane in my truck camper. Much more efficient.

dallye,

It can't be done with batteries. It would take 5 or so batteries to get by for a weekend without heat! The propane suggestion is your only option and if you want to sleep with heat you should get a forced air propane heater and it will use a battery per day at that. They exhaust the fumes outside. There are other heat options but must be used with care!

Look at our locations! Small world!

Hmmmmmmm I know who Alicia is! How is that new Dodge treating you?
