Hi, I live in california and I need to find a company to insure my horse trailer. The company that insures my vehicles doesn't insure trailers. Any suggestions??

Statefarm carries my trailer insurance. My vehicle insurance is through progressive and the only way they will carry it is if it had FULL Livingquaters, State farm was a little hesitant because they don't carry my truck but I talked them into it since they insure my house>

I am also fortunate that our insurance for our house/autos will insure our trailers. None of them have living quarters and I insured them for the price I paid for them. We are through an independent.

Ours is covered by a company called Auto-Owners out of Lansing, MI. They are an A+ Superior rated insurance company. We have a full auto/home/umbrella liability (in case one of our horses bites someone's finger off or something) package with them and are very pleased with their rates and service. If you have a great credit rating then find an independent agent and get a quote. Our agent told us they use a formula based partially on your credit score and we are saving a bundle.

I'm a military brat, so I have USAA for house/truck/trailers. They are one of the BEST insurance companies in the world. I get dividends on my vehicle insurance almost every quarter.
edited to add you can only get this insurance if you, one of your parents, or grandparents were in the military.

Check out www.USRider.org I copy/pasted this from their site, some friends have it and are very happy with it:USRider Emergency Roadside Assistance* Towing When your vehicle cannot be started or driven, the vehicle and/or horse trailer will be towed to the destination of your choice up to 100 miles by one of our authorized vehicles. * Repairs USRider handles each disablement involving a tow vehicle and trailer as if it were an 18-wheeler. In many cases, it is better not to tow - especially with horses on board. In the event that your vehicle becomes disabled when you are trailering horses, if it is possible for us to facilitate a roadside repair and avoid towing, we'll pay a service benefit of up to $200 per incident - excluding parts and fluids. * Battery Assistance * Flat Tire Assistance * Lock-Out Service * Fuel, Oil and Water Delivery Our service truck will deliver emergency supplies of gasoline, water, oil, or any supplies necessary to get you on your way again. USRider Equestrian Benefits * Emergency Trip Interruption Veterinary Services USRider will reimburse you for the unexpected expenses due to a collision which results in the injury of a horse(s) being transported by you. Covered items include: veterinary care, overnight boarding, lodging and meals, rental vehicle. (Reimbursement limited to the first 72 hours following accident and up to US $1,000 maximum). * Emergency Lodging Arrangements If, while traveling, your vehicle breaks down or is in an accident that does not involve injury to a horse(s), USRider will contact area hotels, motels and stabling facilities to make lodging arrangements for you and your horse(s).

In Cal try Farmers ins. group. I think they are the third largest insuror behind State Farm and Allstate in the USA. They have my house, barns, cars, truck and two horse trailers. A LQ. gooseneck and an alum Bumper pull. Both trailers are on my dooley and very reasonable. If they wouldn't Insure my trailers then I would change Companies
