I got mine at a local lumber yard. They had to order it, I got the smoke color and it came in a 4 x 8 sheet. I then cut the sizes I needed. It's been a few years since I got mine, so I don't remember how much it cost.

A word of advice....purchase Lexan rather than plexiglass. Plexiglass will degrade and become brittle over the years with continued exposure to the elements. Lexan will not.

I, too, would recomend Lexan over Plexi. It's A LOT more expensive, but worth every penny! IMHO. It won't "shatter" and break into jagged edges like plexi can. I know first hand... had a wagon with the dark tinted plexi and had a stupid gelding put his muzzle right through the stuff, it broke into several pieces leaving some very sharp edges one of which found its way to the upper gum of that geldings mouth, leaving a very nasty cut that even the vet. wasn't sure what to do with! The trailer that I have now has the Lexan and it will bend extreemly far before it snaps, I like it a bunch and will never go back to Plexi. Most glass shops will either have it or can get it for you. My supplier out here said that they make 3 different shades or colors of it. Good luck on your search, and I'll talk to y'all later...

I have seen Lexan at Home Depot and Lowe's but they are typically are precut. I purchased mine via the local glass company. I have a stock combo trailer so I measured all the openings and they cut them to specs. I purchased the medium gray, which isn't the darkest. On my trailer, the Lexan acts somewhat like sunglasses because the horses eyes are at the level of the horizontal slat opening in the trailer.
Good Luck with your search. I suspect you could order online and have them shipped to you if there isn't a local company available.

Check your yellow pages under "plastic". It may take a few phone calls but even if you don't get the right place on the first call, if you explain what you are looking for they can probably refer you to someone who deals in Lexan. I work for a company that has a pretty extensive cabinet shop and does displays made of plexiglass, etc.. Guys in the shop recommended the lexan - I wanted to put windows in my stock trailer for the winter, and they said the plexiglass would get brittle in the cold. It is really pricy (I never found the extra money to put it in yet, but have wood inserts I can use until I do) - I think it would have cost me around $400 for my trailer and that was before the plastice took a big price jump last year.
