I am thinking about getting a Logan coach Ultra and the trailer comes with wood and aluminum floors.I want to save money and the wood flooring is way cheaper but if it wont save me money down the road by replacing the wood I dont want it.The aluminum floor comes with aluminum sides too so it is way more expensive. The wood floored trailer is called an XT and the aluminum trailer is called the XTR.
here is a website you can look at. http://www.logancoach.com/trailers/xt.html
there is several logan coach ads on horsetrailerworld here is the
XTR- http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/home/trailerdetail.asp?ID=94075
XT- http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/home/trailerdetail.asp?ID=92694
What trailer should I go with?

Aluminum costs more intially but will last longer.
Wood is "reputed" to provide some additional shock absorbtion, although I doubt that it is significant (in addition to pneumatic tires, sprung axles, etc.)
The biggest problem I see with wood is that rot is slow and you might not know it is unsafe until a horse steps through it. On the road you probably don't get the chance to thoroughly rinse and dry the floor between each use.
I think aluminum would be your best choice. Some, perhaps most, of the additional price should come back to you at trade-in time.

I currently have a logan coach Ultra and it has a wooden floor that my daughter takes to college.
I am thinking about buying another trailer like it because I love the trailer to death but I dont know if I should get the same or the one that costs more and has the aluminum siding and floor.

I was kinda shocked that aluminum horse trailers with and without living qtrs had WOOD floors.Sounds cheap to me.I'm getting geared up for a new or new/used trailer and pricing, looking etc.and was floored(no pun)that some had wood floors still.I've had pressure treated wood floored trailers in the past.Still rotted and refloored one with pressure treated wood etc.and within two years floor was full of carpenter ants and ruined again.

If rumber flooring is an option I would go with that, if not go with the aluminum it's worth the extra money. Just remember it still needs washing out so that the aluminum doesn't pit.
