Am looking into buying some land outside Richmond VA. About 10 open, flat acres. Trying to get very ballpark idea what fencing and a metal barn will cost. Understand there are many variables involved, all I need is a rough idea.
We want a 6 stall metal barn w/ tack, wash rack. For fence, we want 4-board wooden fence (looking for range on cost/foot).

speaking from actual experience and being married to a contractor of equine facilities and fine homes, an ALL-STEEL barn with 6/10x12 box stalls, a finished tack(with floor,bath,ac&heat and wired 110/220 with at least 200 amp service should be about 40'X60' in size... (you could add overhangs on either or both sides too) cost might be 60-70K depending on labor...
IF, you want a pole-barn(wood frame) with painted metal siding and roof, you can have all the above AND a 40X50 riding area in the main barn and two 20' overhangs to put your tack/garage space on one side, your 6 stalls on the other (total size 60X80) with a 20' apron on front and transom windows for about 130K... that includes a beautiful apartment with kitchen/living area/bath & sleeping area and an enclosed finished garage with 2)9' overhead power doors.... (that was turn-key) we did here and it is bodacious!!! this came after building and perfecting several design options over the years of horsekeeping.
IF you are handy, you can get a kit and do it yourself too...

Three years ago we built a 30x50 barn with a tackroom/feed room, wash rack, and 6 stalls (10x12) for about $6,000. We just wanted a barn so there is no A/C, tub, toilet or anything we can go into the house for. It is just a simple pole barn with metal roof and sides and a over hang for shade in the horse runs.
Our fences are barbed wire so I can't help with the price of a wood fence.
Oh, location makes a difference on prices (as I'm being reminded of with this move!) We built the barn in S. Tx.

artb42, right now I'm charging $6.75/foot for 4-board paddock style fencing with a face board. This is using a 5/4"X6"X16' pressure treated board nailed to a 5-6"X7' pressure treated post. If I use oak boards the price is a little better and I offer a 2 year warranty on labor and materials.
Last year I helped a friend of mine build a 30X40 pole barn over the winter just working on weekends and doing all the work ourselves. The materials cost him about $12,000.00 and he had a really nice little barn when we were done. If I were contracting to do a pole barn for you, the price would start at $20.00/square foot and go up from there. If you do the math, my friend's barn cost him $10.00/square foot for materials and "rule of thumb" for estimating is double the material cost for a finished product cost.
