I am needing a little advice on the purchase of a different youth sized saddle (13-14inch) for my little 7 year old son. He is currently riding in an older 14 inch big horn. It's OK, but he sits up too high and his little legs do not reach the stirrups. We use buddy stirrups to correct that, but I think he would do better in a little more secure seat. I found a nice little cordura big horn at Country Supply. It is made to fit a horse (QH bars) and the seat and fenders are sized for a child. Has anyone had any experience with these size/type saddles? My son rides a 14HH Arab/Quarter mare.
TIA
Any advice appreciated!!!
Diane

I have 2 Big HOrn cordura's for my girls. a 14" for the 7 year old, and a 15" for the 10 year old. I am very pleased with both of them and for the price I dont' think you can do any better

Comfortable for you, comfortable for the horse. Not so good on the inside of your jean legs! But...kids generally outgrow those sooner than they wear them out at their age.

Thanks guys! I was thinking about ordering the 13", since my son is a bit small. He is about 50 pounds and 4' tall. I guess a 14" would get me a little more time, but I'll figure that out in a little while when I get ready to order. Like you said, for 229.00, you can't beat that price. I like Big horn quality too.
