Anyone want to give me some ideas of a trailer I am looking at that has a DR on the curb side layout.  Ideas or thoughts.  I love the trailer, too bad it wasn't on the other side :(

Want a Fridge/Microwave and cabinet space to hold my show clothes.

It is standard 2 horse (41" short wall and 89" long wall) It does have a bootbox.

I like my camper door on the curb side.  It's not in the traffic lane if I have to pull over and stop.  I just slide over and get out on the curb side.  And all the campgrounds I have seen are set up with the picnic area on the curb side and the electric and water hook-ups on the driver side.  The first stall is my feed and storage space and that  works best on the other side.

What I really like is the walk-through door so I have access to the whole trailer from either side. My camper door is the front door and the escape door is the back door.

How is yours layed out?  I am just afraid I am gonna loose a lot of space with the door on the other side.  I would have to put a walk through door to the horse area, but that is minor compared to the door on the curb side.   The 2 horse doesn't have a door on the first stall, so that isn't an easy option for me!

My current trailer has it on the drivers side, it is so much easier to grab stuff and go back and forth.

I have had them both ways. I personally like it on the driver's side. I know I am the minority here.  I am usually the one that is driving, so I like it on "my" side. I have banged my head way too many times on the gooseneck from going to the other side. As for campgrounds, doesn't bother me. It comes down to whether I pull in to the camp spot or back in to the camp spot.

How much room (Wall) do you have to either side of the door?  And how big is the boot box?

Thanks

I think I am gonna pass on the one that has the door on the curb side.  I just don't think I will have alot of room for the things I want.  :(

THANK YOU ALL for your comments, keep them coming if you want to help others!

To answer the question - bootbox I wanted big enough to sit on and use as a step.  I don't have the specs on the trailer other than going to www.candctrailers.com and going to the horse trailer floorplan for the 2 horse.  :)  That is what I was going off of!

One thing to keep in mind with a small DR....if the short wall is about 41" and you want the door on that side, the boot box cannot connect to the short wall. The boot box will be about 18" deep which would allow only 23" width for the door - or else your boot box would extend into the doorway. Therefore, the boot box would either have to be angled as it approches the short wall (if mounted against the gooseneck part) or it would have to be placed along the curb wall, which is probably where you would want your sink, fridge, cabinets, etc. Your other option would be to have a 1/2 box placed on the gooseneck wall to allow room. It wouldn't be a real big bench, but it would be enough room to sit and use as a step into the gooseneck.
