Be careful and ask your local insurance agent. Have them run the VIN on the trailer and have a highway patrol check it also. We have had a rash of stolen trailers here in our lovely windy state. Do whatever your insurance agent wants you to do regarding tags.

You will need a notarised bill of sale and a title signed from the last trailer owner to register your trailer in PA. You will be required to have the trailer's ser # verified by an inspection station before registration. You will have to apply for a new PA title, and pay a sales tax based on the bill of sale you provide, before you can get your plates. Because the trailer will weigh over 2995# and has aux brakes, it will require an annual inspection.
