My furnace will try to start - the blower will come on for just a little bit, but it never gets warm and then shuts off. Gas is to all other appliances - refrigerator, cooktop & water heater.Any suggestions on where to start looking for the problem?

Check that exhaust is clear....insects can block the air flow which will prevent the furnace from operating. Other causes are a bit more complicated.....control board, fuses, sail switch, gas valve. All pretty reliable so start with the exhaust

Are you plugged in or on batteries. If on batteries and your batteries are week and do not have enough voltage (10.2v??) it will not open the gas for it to ignite and will shut down.

I had to pull the heater out of my LQ. It wouldn't start. Usually the fan comes on first. It had mud dauber nest on the fan blades and also in the exhaust. I even had to pull the cover off the ac unit. They had built a nest on the fan. When I lives in MD. I never had any issues. Here is MO. the bees and mud daubers are terrible.

I had EXACTLY the same thing happen just last weekend. And it was a COLD morning in Wisconsin when it started screeching. Opened it up and could see the dauber nest in the fan. Hubby is putting a piece of screen on the inside of the cover to keep them out in the future.
