I have done over 100 installations on all types of trailers and the only issue that comes up is the lag time to fire the actuator. There are 3 main manufacturers, Titan, Carlisle & Dexter. Carlisle & Dexter use a 3 piston pump that generates 38-40 cu. in. min. VS. Titan's 5 piston pump that generates 70 cu. in. min. that results in a .3 sec response time vs. Carlisle and Dexter's 1.0-1.3 sec.On the hard parts (Rotors, Calipers, etc) there are no performance differences between Titan, Kodiak, Dexter or NAPA.Titan is the only company offering a complete DIY kit that includes everything to complete an install.Electric/Hydraulic Disc Brakes have the ability to stop your trailer up to 50% faster.

I have the kodiak 8000lb kit installed since 2008 on my Exiss 14ftsw 4 h and love it. Installed the kit myself without any problems. Would recommend purchasing an extra flex line to caliper to keep as a spare part. I had a blowout take one out on a holiday weekend. I capped off that line and came home 400 miles fine. Easy to find online or at a well stocked trailer store, but impossible to find at traditional auto parts stores. This has been my only regret. Love the stopping power. My trailer grosses out over 18k loaded.
