I have a gooseneck, Logan Coach, 4 horse steel trailer. It is a 1990 something model, and does leak at the seams. I am looking at applying an elastomeric coating to the roof, but want to make sure I do it correctly the first time. Should I caulk, or apply sealing tape to the seams and rivots before the coating, or just apply extra coats of the coating to these leak prone areas? There is no rust on the roof. I am assuming that the trim, where the roof stops, and the sides begin, should be taped off (so I don't get the coating on them), as well as all lights on the sides in the upper roof/wall area.Does anyone have any advice for me before I begin. I appreciate any help out there.Thank you!

Go to WalMart, Home Depot or Lowes and by 5 gallons of KOOLSEAL, a couple of 4" brushes and a couple of rollers and cover everything on top! Works great and you DO NOT need to caulk anything. We did out Sundowner back in June and it took us most of the weekend to coat the complete trailer with 3 coats and it makes a huge difference!A 5 gallon bucket cost us $75.00 and did our trailer with 3 coats and left me about a gallon left over our trailer roof is 33' long and 8' wide.
