I've read many of the posts on the frame issues and our trailer is now on the growing list. It's still under warranty and we sent pictures to Sundowner, the claim the paint is just peeling off and that is no longer covered. They requested we take it to a professional to have it inspected. We took it to 2 different locations and both said the same thing... The frame needs to be replaced! Sundowner says if we want to haul it down to OK they will look at it at our cost, with no promise to do anything. This just make me sick to my stomach! My husband and I researched for 2 years before biting the bullet and making such a huge investment on a LQ trailer. We decided on Sundowner because of the great warranty, we loved this trailer until we found the frame issue. Any suggestions on what to do now? I'm sick that Sundowner will not make things right. Our dream trailer is now turning into a wonderful LQ trailer being hauled on a rust bucket of a frame. A $65,000 trailer that we can't even get Sundowner dealers to look at for a trade!

For what its worth, in my opinion Sundowner should have to make right on all of these trailers with frame rusting issues! It was their coating product and failure to prep the metal correctly in the first place!

No it's still under warranty because the warranty starts the day of purchase. We bought the trailer new in 2006. So it's under warranty until this fall.

To be honest, we are shocked that Sundowner is not making this right. Based on the Customer Service we had at the time of purchase and how happy we were with the trailer until this point. We went from very loyal Sundowner owners to being stuck with a Sundowner. Very upsetting!! We are still hoping they will do what is right. Mistakes can happen in the manufacturing of any trailer, we understand that but to let this happen & not do anything to correct this is just wrong.
