You can't go back any further than the last year in a SEARCH.
Goggle your subject, adding HTW to the topic, and search for the appropriate forum responses.
The only other way is to guesstimate the age of the thread and manually search every page in that era. You will find many interesting threads, but not easily be able to quickly locate your exact search topic.
