I've always bought tires at Discount tires because of the warranty, and if on the road, and have a blow out, I can get it replaced easy enough. But, bigger trailer, and need LT235/85R16 G. And Discount and other places need to order them. Discount tire also now charges a warranty fee based on the cost of the tire, so the Goodyear G614 warranty was an extra $63 PER TIRE!!! I stopped at Sams Club, and they can get the tires in, and quoted me $333 per tire, and $15 each for the tire plan. I have to keep Sams membership the whole time, and tire plan is for 4 years. Some say Sams is not the same quality I may get from a Goodyear store. So, how important is a tire plan to most of you? No matter, if I blow one, I will have to put the spare on, while I order a new replacement to come in. (I love my new-to-me LQ, but things were sure cheaper with my camper and bumper pull)

The Goodyear G614RST is the same tire at any store.. Goodyear builds them to one spec. As for a tire plan, I wouldn't worry about it, but then again, for $15 each you can't go wrong.. Keep the G614's properly inflated and take care of them on the road and they will age out before you blow one. Be sure you get them to balance the trailer tires, alot of places do not balance them unless you ask. Of course this to cost extra also.... JMHO

Just purchased 4 of these bad boys at Discount Tire, I could not be more pleased. Discount was very reasonable, great service, warranty, large parking lot to get rig in and out of, lots of locations, and when hauling a large trailer with horses I want to be as safe as possible. Several other tires were available at other retailers but I did not feel the quality was there. Ask Discount for some wiggle room, I bet the will match your Sam's Club price and you won't have to worry about being a member for 4 years. Good Luck hope you have a great experience like I did.

I looked into the G614 from Sam's as well the store here said they would mount the tire and balance but I would to install it on the trailer. They said told me they have a policy stating they cannot work on anything outside of the bays. Just something to be aware of.

Stopped at Discount Tire. They will match tire price of Sams club, but we are still discussion the warranty. BUT, when he tried to find 5 of the Goodyear 614G tires, he was told they are on backorder, and waiting on the factory to do a run of them. Might be 45 days. I do not have any trips planned, so I told him to go ahead and order. I dd not have to pay for them today. At least they will be new, new, right out of the factory if all he said is true

I've had the same problem finding the 614's. This availability issue has been going on for a couple of months. I had to have tires and went to Hankook F19 7.5-16. This is a G rated tire with load capacity of 3330# @ 105psi vs. 3750# @ 110 psi for the 614. Speed rating is 68 mph vs. 75 mph for the 614. Price is about $240/ tire. I've always run the 614, and the 159 before that, but the Hankook came highly recommended by friends and so far they have been good. I cannot tell any difference in the amount of tire "squat" with weight from the 614. I've put about 4,000 miles of highway driving with a load and have not had a problem. Discount Tire has them and they are carried by most tire shops as well. Are they as good as the 614, time will tell, but if you can't get the 614 they are the next best choice.

That back order, need to wait on production stuff has been going on for years, not months. I'm in the exact same boat as Tx. Vaquero. I absolutely did not want to buy anything but American, but after driving 50 miles for a set of 614 only to be told " gosh our computer says we have them, but we can't find them, back ordered etc. I'm trying the Hankook f19. So far so good. Hated to go that way, but that's about the only choice unless you have plenty of time to wait! No warranty cause I can get one about anywhere around here. On another note I will say I bought a set of Michelins from Sams years back and they barely made it 30,000 miles? I've always wondered why because that was half what I expect on that vehicle!!! Stayed away from Sams since then. Just my experience!!

Thanks for input. Because of the time of year, I can wait. Have one camping trip planned in a month, but after that, nothing. I have a bumper pull for daily hauling. So we will see what they say in a couple more weeks and I bug them. I will report back.

Agree with Retento...pass on the extra warranty. One caution on those trailers OE with 235/80R16 E, the 235/85R16 G tire should not be used on this wheel. The 235/80R16 carries 80 psi and the 235/85R16 G carries 110 psi. The wheel is not rated for that much air pressure.

So question on wheels. How do I know rating on them???...... this trailer had OE of the LT235/85R16 G, g614's. hich was another reason I was sticking with them

The wheels should be stamped with the pressure they are rated for. If the trailer came with the 614's the wheels should be rated for 110psi, which is as high as any 16" tires are good for, so you don't have any worries there. You are good to go.
