Due to a divorce, I have a lovely trailer i have been trying to sell for 2 years. I have looked into trading down for a smaller trailer, but there isn't really enough equity in it yet. I would really like to downgrade my tow vehicle but don't feel comfortable doing that while the trailer is in my possession. I was wondering about the possibility of dealerships taking the trailer on consignment, if anyone has done that and what their experience was, and if anyone knows of dealers who would do that in the MW (I'm located in SW Michigan).
(FYI, trailer is a 3 horse w/14 foot shortwall and 8foot slideout, 2010 blue ribbon all aluminum).

Don't know if you have tried but I sold one trailer on Craigslist. Just this past week sold my trailer on Facebook,of course there was a good network of horse people on facebook. Good Luck.

Have you tried selling it on HTW? This is the best site we've found for selling new and used trailers nationwide. As a dealer in Shipshewana, IN, we do consider trailers for consignment.

Just an fyi...
Have had the trailer listed on horse trailer world for almost 2 years (with tons of pictures as well as links to video tours)... have also listed on Craigslist. Obviously selling outright is the preferred option but it just isn't happening. I'm sure if we could get people to see the trailer it would sell because it is lovely and in great condition...hence the consideration of putting it on consignment.

There are a few reasons trailers don't sell. The first one is they are priced too high vs new. Second is size. the bigger they are the harder to sell. Third is condition. I suspect your trailer has been priced too high in this competitive market and needs to be reduced continually until it sells.
