Unfortunately - my dad has gotten slightly carried away with acid washing our LQ trailer and I'm assuming the skin is starting to oxidize (touch it and white film comes off). The issue needs to be dealt with and I plan on giving it an old fashioned hand washing this weekend and use the Bio-Kleen black streak remover as well; once finished, I plan on giving it a couple of coats of wax. Would this be sufficient to take care of the oxidation/film on the skin or do I need to do some additional steps? Thanks in advance.

The wax will slow the recurrence of oxidation, but not eliminate the affect.

There are marine waxes made specifically for this purpose, that are more weather and water proof and afford UV better protection, than standard automotive finishes.

The aircraft industry also uses products for polishing and corrosion control that afford longer lasting finishes.
