This is a 2002 2 horse bumper pull. It has been stored outside in Ohio elements all of its 8 years. Can you please click on the link and let me know if this is normal wear and tear for a trailswest? What condition for the year would you consider this in? Am I allowed to ask how much you would ask for it if you were selling? And how much you would offer for it if you were buying? How much work would be involved to remove the rust? Thank you!

I've got a 2002 Trails West living quarters and it does not look anything like the one pictured. The one pictured looks like it's been ridden hard and put away wet too many times. It's too bad because the value drops considerably when a trailer has that much rust. Most Trails West trailers I've seen look much, much better than that ... sometimes a little surface rust, but not that deep or that much of it. Mine has to sit outside in all the Minnesota elements, but I powerwash it regularly and there is no rust on mine. Trails West has a finish similar to what the automotive industry uses, but with lack of care they'll still rust out.

Thank you for your insight!! Much appreciated! I was looking at other older trailswest trailers and they all looked to be in great condition. Thank you!

That is pretty much what my 2002 looked like when I sold it. The rims aren't Trailswest's fault but I think they were having some paint problems for awhile that year because the few that age I've seen all look the same. Sandblast and repaint if you really like the trailer as the basic structure is still probably solid.

Do you mind sharing what you sold it for? I am torn on what I want to do...have always liked these trailers...thanks!

I bought it for $5500 and sold it after 18mo for $5200. I bought another Trails West, same model but a 2009 3 Horse gooseneck for $9000.Here are pictures of my old one.https://picasaweb.google.com/108479999065448941666/HorseTrailer?authuser=0&feat=directlink

Thank you for the info and pics! Yours looks to be in a little better shape. The person will sell it for $3,600. I thought that was a good deal then I saw the pics and wasn't sure how much work and $ would be involved to fixing the rust spots.
