Which campground is better? East Fork or Timber Ridge? Are the trails right there at both? We will be renting a cabin, Is the trail system the same for both? How well marked is the trail map and trails? Any and all info greatly appreciated. Never been to TN.

They are two completely different places each with their pros and cons. East Fork is very big where Timber Ridge is quite small. We love Timber Ridge for the atmosphere and the way the owners make you feel, they appreciate your business and don't mind letting you know that. They clean the manure out of your trailer while you get your horses settled in their stalls. We've been there for several 3 day rides and always had plenty of trails to ride, we typically ride 4 - 6 hours. The bath houses are clean and they have a washer and dryer for use. The stalls are in very good shape and water is close to all the stalls.
East Fork has great trails with beautiful overlooks and even a ride to the river---be prepared to be out all day if you ride to the river. The campground itself is nice, the bath houses aren't the best. The stalls are in very good shape and you don't have to drag hoses all over to water your horses.
If you want a bigger campground you can't go wrong with East Fork, if you prefer a smaller campground you can't wrong with Timber Ridge.

We will probably go to East Fork. We will be going for 3 days. We can scope out some of the other places while there. Is there anywhere or anything people (other than on the trails) go to see in that area that is a must see? I like driving around in a new area to get my bearings and see what is around. I hope that makes sense. Thank you for the information. I have seen so many posts that were all good about East Fork Stables.
We enjoy going to Highland Manor Winery for wine tasting and they have different activities throughout the summer. Here is a link to that site as well.
