check out this adhttp://www.horsetrailerworld.com/home/trailerdetail.asp?ID=306039called the guy, said he is financial distress, got disconnected - and emailed 2x but haven't heard back. if the deal is too good to be true than it is? if it is real and he does want to do business, i will need someone local in dallas to put their eyes on this trailer, a lawyer perhaps to handle the transaction etc. until i can get out there from atlanta.thanks.

Looks like a scam. Those pics were taken on a trailer lot. I would research it better before I jumped thru too many hoops.

Google the phone number.  He may be in financial distress if he actually owns all of the upper end equipment he's trying to sell.  Has some nice stuff, it would certainly put me in financial distress to own it!  May be for real I can't really tell, but I would do a lot of homework on this one.  Nice looking trailer.

I think its spam. The number has a couple horse trailer listings, a bmw, and one is in Dallas, the others in Chicago. http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&site=&source=hp&q=%28361%2...

361 seems to be a proper area code for Texas but not for Dallas. However I'm not convinced it's a scam either. Keep us posted if you find out more! It's a nice trailer.....

the second thing i did was google the number...boat for sale, bmw for sale etc. and the gentleman is foreign sounding (at least from what i am used to hearing in georgia - lol) and the phone rings different also. so far no joy on a return call or any emails...i don't need a 4 h trailer, but my friend just bought the same rig brand new and paid close to twice that price. hence my thinking that it is too good to be true to only be an 08 trailer...

MAJOR SCAM!  Dallas numbers are either 214 or 972!  I am about 50 miles from Dallas and will be closer to Dallas Thursday and Friday afternoon so I will try and contact the guy myself and see what happens.  Will let you know what I find out.  By the looks of it I would say it is a scam since our local dealer has the same type trailer for around $$60-k range.

I don't know... Price looks about right to me, specially if they are trying to get out from under it... It's not a Bloomer, Platnium, Elite, 4 Star, etc... You Bison fans better jump on it!!

here is what i got back this am:

Hi there,
I’m so sorry for taking this long to write you back.
I have the trailer in Red Wing, MN. All I can say about my trailer is that I bought it brand new, I took great care of it, was never involved in accidents, there are no damages and everything works like new.
You can find more pictures here: http://s1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd449/robertbrown201/

I've just landed in TX this morning and I'll spend the next couple of weeks away from home, I hope this is not a problem because a very good friend of mine owns a truck company and if you are really interested, I can ship the trailer without any problems.

I’m a serious person and I hope you are one also, because I really don’t have time to lose, my financial situation is not so good and I really need a quick sale.

Thank you
Robert Brown"

I wish I could help, but Red Wing is two hours away. I can't remember who, but someone on the board is from around River Falls, WI which is only about 1/2 hour away. Maybe she could help if you find out where the trailer is.

here we go....waiting now to hear from visa. told him amx would be preferred;)"There are 1050 miles from MN to GA and shipping will be $900, but I'm ready to split the shipping fees. About the trailer I can tell you that there is no loan on the title, I have a clear title in hand. There are no damages, or any missing accessories, never smoked in, no pets and everything is in working order.Instead using an attorney I have another option and I think it's the best choice, let's use VISA. I've used their services in the past to buy my wife's car and I was really happy because I was able to inspect the vehicle before payment.Let me explain to you how it works:1. we agree how many days you need to inspect the trailer. I think 5 days is enough.2. you will transfer the money to VISA3. visa confirm payment and ask me to ship the trailer to you4. from the day you will receive the trailer, you'll get 5 days to inspect it and take a decision if you agree to buy it or not5. after inspection you ask VISA to pay me.You will receive all documents along with the trailer. It's easy and this way you're not buying something sight unseen. If from any reasons you don't like the trailer you can ask for a refund anytime, and VISA will refund your money in 24 hours. Please let me know what you think and I'll ask VISA to get back to you with more details.ThanksRobert"can i start getting excited? lol

I hope that you've gone back and looked at the ad again. It's marked "fraud" for a reason. Before I went any further,I would contact the man by phone if possible and tell him that my lawyer lives only about an hour from where the trailer is located and he is going to go look at it for me.Sit back, watch the fun.

On a side note to this, sometimes the people that have this stuff "listed" doesn't know they have it.  I received a request from someone off Craigslist on the nearly new John Deere tractor I had listed.  I have never owned a John Deere but there it was, in my account, with a really nice pic of it!  I contacted Craigslist and was told how to change my account information as it had been compromised.
