I've been looking around for good used horse trailers and I'm not having any luck. So, I've decided to go new. I've been looking online and I found the Eclipse trailers. I really like their 2 horse straight load with a ramp. Ihttp://www.horsetrailerworld.com/home/trailerdetail.asp?ID=305337 I don't need anything fancy and I think these trailers fit the bill.
Does anyone own an Eclipse trailer? How do you like them? How are they holding up? How do they haul?
Pros and Cons?
I haven't went to look at any yet b/c the closest dealer is around 2hrs from me.

I recently purchased a custom eclipse trailer. For a basic no frills trailer, it fits the bill. Its safe, hauls well, looks good, its light, was about half the price of the competition, and they will work with you if you need something custom that they dont have advertised as an option.
so far, I love mine. I heave heard people say they have crappy welds, and I dont know about the other trailers, but mine has nicer welds than Ive seen on most trailers. I had my relative who is a professional metal fabricator and welder take a look at the trailer, and the first thing he commented on was what a good job they did welding the aluminum. As far as longevity, I havent had it long enough to tell yet.
As a forewarning, Im also from PA, and after dealing with the dealer that is local to me, I decided to order through a dealer that's actually in Michigan...
Also, if you order your trailer custom, you can have it delivered to your door for a reasonable fee. They charge per mile from the manufacturer in somerset oh. It was going to be around $260 for me.
I chose to pick mine up at the manufacturer. Its a small no frills place, very nice people, and not some huge assembly line type place.

One thing to check is how the trailer is being delivered to you...if it is FOB Shipping Point, then make sure your insurance policy covering the trailer is in effect, before the delivery vehicle leaves the shipping yard.

HelloI am looking at the eclipse trailer also and wanted to know if @savydawn decided on a trailer. There is no close dealership so will have to ship it, but nervous about not being able to see in person. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for the replies. I haven't bought a trailer yet, however I am really leaning toward eclipse trailers.
I also will have a pro welder/fab looking at any trailer I buy. Any trailer I buy he will be the one working on it when the time comes, so he will not let me buy anything that doesn't pass his standards. lol

Eclipse had a bp 2h at Ohio Equine Affair with bunkbeds in the dressing room. Top bed folded up, bottom bed had storage. Closet with spare tire and briddle hooks. All you need is a portipotty next to the saddle rack and weekend camping would be easy. It was at Congress too, I just couldn't find it.

If you're willing to drive, you can check the in the Cincinnati Oh Craigslist under farm&garden. There is an eclipse like the one Mr.Truck described. it looks like its in good shape. I think they're asking $7200 for it.

any additional experience on the Eclipse trailers? Price seems too good to be true. Curious if anyone's had issues with one after having and using it for a while. Seems like most people commenting online about them haven't owned them for very long.
