Can you identify the make/model/and year of this trailer?  It was stolen and the authorities are trying to solve the case.  The first mystery is identifying it.

Here's the original request:

I am a vehicle theft investigator with Los Angeles County Sheriff Dept.

I am trying to identify a horse trailer. If I send you a photo, would you be able to tell me the manufacturer/model/approx. year? I would sincerely appreciate any help. Thank you, Donna Martinez Task Force for Regional Autotheft Prevention (TRAP) dlmartin@lasd.org

Don't the people from whom the trailer was stolen know what kind it is?

Or was the trailer recovered by the authorities who can't ID it?

It looks a bit like the Titan Avalanche.

It's not a confirmed stolen trailer.  At this point, it is an unidentified trailer.  My concern, as a vehicle theft investigator, is that the identifying numbers have been removed which is an indicator of a possible stolen vehicle.  If I knew the make/model and approx. year, I would probably be able to determine if it is an actual stolen vehicle.

At this point, its just an abandoned trailer but I'd like to get it back to it's owner if possible.

Thanks,

D. Martinez

Dave...Educated guess because I took one just like it on trade last year from a lady in Colorado....The brand was Apache, and I believe they were manufactured right there in Colorado...I don't think they are in business anymore, but there should be a hidden VIN somewhere on the trailer frame, I would think. The one I got was a 1999, so I would guess the year from mid to late 90's. Hope this helps.

It wouldn't let me edit...I wanted to add that from the title we had, all of Apache's VIN #s for a bumper pull trailer will start with 46YHB....
