I need to get a brake controller installed in my truck. Are all brake controllers created equal, or are there better brands or types out there? The trailer place near me installs Podigy controllers. I was going to go with that if there's no difference.

I have a 4 Star thats 27' on the floor and I use the Prodigy controller. I love the controller, I would buy it again. I am not an expert but I think it is one of the best out there.

I'm no expert but I've been looking at trailer brake controllers as well. Here is a link that describe the difference between two basic types of controllers... http://www.etrailer.com/faq-brakecontroller.aspx . From there you can choose from several brands and models. From what I gathered, the Prodigy controllers are pretty good.

All brake controllers are not created equal. The Prodigy is one of the better ones though.

That P3 is nice, got one on the 2001 3500. The 2010 GMC has the factory controller not sure who builds it for GM. I have set it once when I hooked up to the trailer for the first time, haven't had to touch in since that day, works great.
