I've not owned a LQ trailer and looking at one that doesn't have a sink in the bath. Dealer indicated it is pretty common to not have one in a 10 ft LQ trailer...not sure how big a deal it is but would like to hear from folks that have setups both ways.

All of the 10' LQ trailers that we sell do have sinks in the bathroom. I have personally owned both before going into the business of selling trailers and I liked the sink in the bath better so that I could keep tooth brushes and such in there not to mention all of my wife's pretty maker supplies. Good luck and if you have any more questions feel free to contact me.

Right now my trailer doesn't have a sink in the bathroom. It really bothers me. Maybe I'm just vain, but it really bothers me to brush my teeth and wash my face in the kitchen sink. Having a bathroom sink would be very high on my list for a trailer. JMHO

For me, that would not work. I think it's kinda gross to wash my hands after using the bathroom in the same area and sink when I am preparing food, washing cooking utensils.
But...I've been called a clean freak.
BUT...I also never had the "stomach flu" from mixing fecal matter into my food.

a bathroom sink is nice but not a necessity, IMO. I spent years camping w/ no LQ... now we have one (complete w/ bathroom sink!) it's handy, and I do use it, but also have no problem brushing my teeth outside using a cup of water or in the kitchen sink. if I were building a trailer from scratch I'd rather have the extra storage area than a 2nd sink.

our first trailer was a weekender package so all we had was a kitchen sink and a potty shower combined. Granted I love having a second sink now, but I didn't have a problem brushing my teeth in the main sink, or washing my hands in that same sink. We didn't get any serious disease or flu from washing our hands and brushing our teeth and washing our cooking pans all in the same sink. You can clean the sink before you do either one. I vote for having a second sink, but when you only have one, you make do with just the one.

We don't have a bathroom sink in our 10' LQ and I wouldn't sacrifice the closet space to have one. We ordered ours this way. The clorox wipes do an excellent job of cleaning!

My 9 ft LQ does not have a sink in the bathroom and it bothered me when we bought it. But now that I have used the trailer I much prefer to have the extra closet space than a second sink.

We do not have a sink in our bathroom- does not bother me! I'd rather have the extra storage. Plus, I'll never forget the Oprah show where she talked about how much bacteria end up on toothbrushes from water spraying from toilet flushing. Our toothbrushes are as far away from the toilet as possible in the kitchen and the bathroom door is usually closed when someone uses the toilet. We don't get sick very often so I would assume we are either being clean enough or we've innoculated ourselves!

There will be pros and cons to your situation, and only you can decide what to put in the space you have.
Our holiday trailer has two sinks and I never allow people to wash or brush their teeth in the kitchen sink. I find it rather gross. On the other hand, my horse trailer has no official plumbing, so we use wash tubs to do dishes and our personal care, and even one sink would seem great! So we find ways to manage.
If you decide to go with only one sink, there are ways around your problem. You can use a wash basin to do your hands, you can use the hand wipes, you can use the alcohol hand rub. You could keep a pail of water in the shower for you to rinse hands, and the pour it down the shower drain. As for storage space, it's true that you can always use more, but just how much do you need? A sink will have some storage space below, maybe that will be enough for you. Just look at your needs, and then go from there. And sometimes if there's a good deal you might end up with something that isn't your first pick, and still be very happy.

All of our 10' LQ's have a sink/vanity in the bathroom. It's hard to get one in an 8' or under unless you get a shorter sofa or dinette up front....I couldn't do without a bathroom sink with 10' either....

I have a 10 foot LQ and we don't have a shink in the bathroom. We don't have any problems with it. I like it as it is one less sink to winterize, one less sink to leak and one less sink to get plugged. It also got us about 18 inches more closest space and I needed the closet space more than a sink.

rattler, I looked at LQ's on HTW for 7 years before buying. I think that the dealer is blowing smoke about pretty common to not have a bathroom sink in a 10 ft LQ.

This is obviously a fascinating subject. LOL Our friend has an 8ft LQ, no bathroom sink. She said if there was a "next time" she would prefer the sink. When we were trailer shopping it seemed getting a bathroom sink pretty much started with the 10ft short wall models. Same deal with the 6.0 fridge, so we only looked for 10ft and longer. Wanted a 12 really but couldnt find one like we wanted but could settle for the 10. We have plenty of storage. When you step in the cabinet with stove and kitchen sink is on your right and on your left is a large hanging wardrobe closet. I have both mine and husbands clothes hanging in it. A hanging closet beside the bed holds jackets and coats. Below the wardrobe are 2 drawers that each hold our undergarments and socks. Above is a cabinet that holds rain gear and helmets. Bathroom has a large linen closet behind/above the toilet. We carry both riding and wearing clothes for all weather for two, enough for a week at a time, with no difficulty. Some may have to do with individual trailers arrangement of space. Cant imagine not having the privacy of the bathroom sink. Camped with a friend this past weekend and it was cold. He came over to visit at night and while he and husband sat on couch and talked I could go in bathroom, shut pocket door, and take shower, brush teeth, etc. to get ready for bed. Often one of us will be dressing and brushing teeth, putting in contacts, etc, while the other is cooking breakfast. Would hate to have to be using the kitchen sink for toiletries. But I can understand the space issue with smaller than 10ft LQ.
