Need help with trailer brakes. When you apply the truck brakes the trailer isn't working at all and if you use the hand lever they will work slightly. Same truck and trailer for the last 3 years, Dodge 3500 and Sundowner 3H LQ with a Prodigy controller. When originally installed everything worked fine and now nothing. We have redone the bearings as well as a magnet that was bad (only 1) and a couple brake springs that were bad other than that nothing done to either one. The controller doesn't show any codes and the wiring tests out fine.  Any ideas??

Are the contacts clean.  I have had it that everything checked out good but the contacts were so bad they could not carry the power to apply any real braking action.  Winter can be hard on the truck side.

I would check the contacts in your plug, trailer and truck, for corrosion. You will be specifically looking at the BLUE wires. Some dielectric grease applied to the contacts, and inserting and removing the plug several times, can get things working again.

When you manually operate the controller, you are getting the full battery voltage, and you had some braking affect. Using the brakes with the controller you did not. The controller has settings that determine how quickly the voltage is applied and its maximum value. This is usually less than a full voltage, manual application.

When the brake work was finished, were the brakes properly adjusted? I think you have a poor connection in the plug, or blue wire to the brakes.
