Does anyone know when it's safe and responsible to start using the trails in Brown County IN? And when the weather starts cooperating with camping? I went probably 8 years ago in May and it was alright but I was thinking of taking a short vacation in early April and I wasn't sure if the trails would be ready to be ridden by then. We'd be coming from Michigan and I have to detour through the Terre Haute area to visit family so other options along that route are possible if people have suggestions.

Well, as it stands at the moment, it is pretty soggy around here and I am guessing it is pretty soggy there too. ( we are 2 hours from Brown County & 25 min. from Terre Haute) This is the rainy season and as I am sure you know the trails can be pretty mucky this time of yr. ...if it were me..I would plan a trip to Brown County later in the spring/summer....JMHO

We live in Southern Indiana-- about 1 1/2 - 2 hours SOUTH of Brown County.
I usually don't make any "reservations" around here till the first of May-- April is so "iffy" - it rains alot-- which makes the trails horrible - and it could be warm- or snowing!!
