Thanks to everyone who suggested we stay at Hayes Canyon.  Patty and Ben are great hosts and do all they can to make your stay great!  We had a little rain the first part of the week but still managed to get in some good riding.  I can't wait to go back and explore more trails.

This is in southern Illinois.  Some people ran across some ground bees but we didn't have any problems.  There were a few horse flies but not really bad.

Glad you had a good time despite the rain!

Hayes is beautiful, Ben and Patty run a good business.

We leave in a few weeks for Shawnee, I'm hoping for good weather!

We will be there in a couple of weeks also.   We go every October and just love the trails and the campground-

We went in May right after the inland Hurricane. Trails were good considering all the rain and downed trees. Shawnee is one of my favorite riding places and we have enjoyed camping at Hayes and Circle B.

We just came back last night from Hayes Canyon...and last week we spent a few days at Wrangler's camp at LBL.. we enjoyed them both... the trails at Shawnee were pretty muddy the past three days though. I didn't realize that the camp at LBL was so enormous!! Has anyone camped on the other side of Shawnee? near Garden of the Gods?? and... what the heck is up with Bear Branch???? is there anything going on there? it looks even worse than it did a couple of years ago.
