flyinghfarm, wanting better batteries than the 12v lead acids that I had, I switched to the non lead acid. They were quite a step up in price, at close to $300 for the pair, but they hold a charge well and I am quite pleased. However, the next go round I'm going to go the 6 volt route as suggested by several posters on this site. I checked my favorite RV repair place in town, and this is also what they recommend. From the RV place I can get two 6 volts for less than half of what I paid for those two 12 volts and they would even hook them up in series for me! Live and learn. The 6 volt's are bigger batteries, but I checked my battery boxes on both of my trailers and it looks like the boxes were built plenty big enough for the 6 volts.

Whenever I purchase a battery, I look for a brand that offers the highest cold cranking amps, (CCA) and the longest free replacement warranty. While most good batteries have a seven or eight year warranty, most of that time is prorated.
We have an auto parts chain called Autozone, that has a seven year battery, with a three year free replacement policy. This is often the life span of LQ batteries. I've used their batteries for many years in my various equipment, and have been quite satisfied with their longevity.
A few calls made to various suppliers near to you, should quickly reveal which offers the best warranty. Often times, the most expensive battery is not the best performer.
