Hello Everyone,

I am thinking of updating my current pickup it has 168,000 miles. I have replaced the tranny 2yrs ago. The A/C compressor went out last year so this summer has been a roll with the windows rolled down....

I have been looking at 2004 Chevy Silverado Z71 4x very similar to what I am using right now just newer with only 68,000 miles.

Any one have any info good or bad about this year Chevy???

Thanks,

Lisa

Truck it t self is fine, only thing I know about the GM's 4x4 is weak frontend parts, wheel beariings, ball joints. Now for the engine if you are going to do any towing at all make sure it does not have the 4.8, these are small V/8's with little power.

Ok, I will look on the window sticker for the info on engine etc. My 97 is a 5.7 V8. It has heavy duty trailering equipment and HD Transmission cooling system. I am not sure where to look for gear information? Is that something I need to ask the dealer about??
I really like my old truck but am just worried about its towing viability because it is so much older.
When I do long hauls I am always a nervous wreck..........

Dealer, service, parts or sales can run the vin number of the truck and print off the build sheet in a few moments.Shows options, color codes of interior, exterior, options, gearing etc.
