I am searching for an 3 horse trailer LQ and have looked at the Shadow brand. Does anyone have one that can give me their opinion on the way its made. I would appreciate some feedback on their products.

I have an '03 2H GN weekend package that I bought used from a friend that bought it new. I consider them an affordable aluminum trailer that is decently made. (I bought it Dec '06)
I was nicely surprised recently to see that the door latches which are keyed, are the same type of latches a camping friend has on her very expensive Hart LQ.
They're cerntainly not on the same level as Hart, but it seems to be a decent trailer for the money. Last fall I had it pressure cleaned inside/out and it looked brand new. I had a safety check done at the same time and it needed new brakes, but the rest of the components such as the axles, floor, etc were fine. I do camp a fair amount - about 15 times between Oct - April as well as use it for weekly day rides, so the trailer is used on a regular basis.

I have owned a Shadow, and really liked it. I had a 4 Horse Gooseneck with a small tack. I mainly used it for trail rides. The back of the trailer was was lined and kept my horses cool. It pulled very well. I never had a problem with it! I had to sell it because I needed the money. I regret that. I would say they are a good trailer, and would buy one again no question about it.

I have the Shadow 2 horse straight load with a dressing room. For the money, I'm very happy with it. When I go to places in the area it seems like 6 out of 10 will be a Shadow. No one I know of has complained about the integrity of their trailers only that the company that made the LQ at one time went out of busiess and Shadow didn't hold up the warranty on it. I'm not sure that Shadow Should have done that so that may not even be a factor. Check out who did the LQ on the trailer, find out if it's still under any warranty and then see if it's the company they use now that is in business.
