I'm looking at a stock/horse trailer that has the open slat sides about 1/2 way down the sides. The trailer is fairly priced, however im a bit worried about the slats being so far down. I would be hauling fine boned horses, and am worried about someone getting a leg out one of the slats with them being so far down. Has anyone had any experience with closing up some of the slats? We would be looking to leave the top 2 slats open for airflow.
If you have ever had something like this done at a shop, what did you pay?
Also, has anyone added a solid wall in a trailer? The trailer does not have a tack room in it, but does have room in the front for a tackroom where the escape door is. Any idea what this would cost me to have done?
I previously had a trailer modified like this, however it was done prior to me owning the trailer.

I don't know but to me, I would keep looking. There are a ton of trailers for sale out there and if this is not what you want .... keep looking. It would cost you more in the long run to start changing the walls of a trailer.
