What size generator do you need to run your AC, microwave, lights, ect. our trailer is all electric. would 4,000 watts be enough? and what are some quiet ones so we can sleep? Thanks!

Ours has a Onan Lp either a 3400 or 3600 (can't remember for sure) seams to be great, runs everything we use, frig, a/c, tv, even a hair dryer as long as you are not using the micro at the same time. FYI, Ours is mounted under the gooseneck from the factory, BAD IDEA! We have also had the generac lp generator and could not tell any difference between the two. Both was already installed on the trailers. I have found out that the Onan will cost you more money. good luck

If you are wanting a portable, I have heard good thing about the Honda's (3000?)  has electric start and really quite.  These run around $2000.00 or a little less.

Honda 3000 will do it as long as you're not running your blow dryer and microwave etc all at the same time.  The Honda is nice and quiet, we had our's under the gooseneck running and we couldn't hear it when we were in bed.  Yea, that quiet.  We bought ours at Midway Trailer Sales for 1899.00.

I run with several folks that have an all electric 15'+ SW LQ. They have a 5K or greater gas generator. I am pretty sure a 3K would not be sufficient. Heck, I have a 4K and don't run the AC, water heater and microwave at the same time in a 13' SW.

Which ever gen you decide to get....please do NOT run it overnite. That is just plain rude. And in many campgrounds, state parks..it's quiet time from 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM.

BTW...I have a Onan 4000 in my RV, it's an older one...so it's loud. And I only run it from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Ours is a 4000w Onan Microquiet that is in the rear tack and is very very quiet, and I have used the AC and micro simultantiously, but don't add the 1875w hair dryer to that load.  Works great.

You should be able to use the the quiet generatirs all night and not have your neighbors mad at you.  I can talk on my cell phone and stand right next to the generator.

I disagree with you. No matter how quiet a gem may be, in the middle of the night ....in an otherwise quiet campground, it will be loud. And yes...even to the person across the campground. Sound travels far in the middle of the night out in the woods.

If you mount your generator under the neck how do you run your exhaust so the fumes don't come up in your windows and gas you?

These quiet inverter type generators run at about 58 dbs. In the middle of the night when all is quiet, that 58 dbs is....LOUD! I got one and if I know ahead of time that I'll need it that night. I'll park away from everyone. If someone pulls up beside me I'll tell them up front that I'll be using the generator, they may want to park elsewhere. Some say it's doesn't matter, the Yamaha won't keep them awake.

Noise and vibration is not that bad for me! (I can sleep through anything) but better half can't stand it. Exhaust fumes is another story, could not figure out why we was having headachs when we wake up. Then we realize there is a gap in around the slide out that is sucking the fumes right into the interior.

YOU CAN'T!   Ours is under the gooseneck and the pipe is right by the slide out.  I have to go to a muffler shop and have them rig a pipe to hook up while camping.   Let me tell you, looks really good on a new trailer
