There was a heartbreaking trailer wreck in Tx over the weekend. The hitch failed on a motor home and the trailer rolled. A recent AQHA world champion was killed and another world champ was severely injured! These folks were not novice and hauled constantly with top of the line equipment. So very sad!! They had bred and raised both these horses!!

Yes, they are ok. It was Ronnie and Vickie Kent from Fl. Ronnie and his mare won the AQHA select world in trial last week and Vickie won the showmanship and was reserve in Halter with her gelding. The gelding died in the wreck and the mare was very cut and banged up. Not sure how she will end up. Ronnie and Vickie owned the dam of both these horses, they raised them. I can only imagine their pain!

Does anyone have a link to the actual story or info on what may have caused this accident?

I would like to know what may have caused this accident as I haul my 2 horse bumper pull trailer with my Damon RV.

Very....very sad that they lost their beloved horse.

I heard the reese hitch snapped intwo. Ie, the metal tube that extends from the frame to the back of the rv that the ball goes into. Believe me, these folks had the best equipment money could buy and were very experienced haulers!!!! Just a freaky, bad deal!!!!
